Dairy farmers! Are water shortages affecting your operations?

ATD Manure Systems Inc. offers cutting-edge dairy manure treatment and water recycling systems designed specifically for today’s dairy farms.

Our innovative ATD 2 Step System™ reduces freshwater consumption by recycling water from manure slurry and maximizes nutrient capture, making your farm more sustainable, efficient, and cost-effective.

  • Reduce barn fresh-water needs by more than 50%.

  • Eliminate the Lagoon, its GHG’s and management costs.
  • Optionally combine all nutrients as a semi-dried solids OR for those correcting Nitrogen and Phosphorus overloads:
Separate short release Nitrogen and Phosphorus as a liquid concentrate that is less than 5% of old lagoon volume from long release Nitrogen and Phosphorus as semi-dried solids for application.

  • Optionally recycle drainage ditch contents, recovering leached nutrients,
reducing fresh-water needs further and eliminating downstream concerns.

Why Choose ATD?

  • Reduce freshwater demand
  • Conserve nutrients and cut application costs
  • Comply with water-use regulations
  • Lower greenhouse gas emissions
  • Prepare your farm for the future

Introducing the ATD 2 Step System™

Manure Treatment That Works

Our 2 Step System™ transforms the way you manage livestock manure. It separates nutrition from hydration, so you get more nutrients per tonne in lighter solids, and recycled drinking water for the herd, all year long.

Step 1: Capture Suspended Solids at the Barn

We use a Press and Clarifier to collect virtually all suspended solids daily and store them above ground in a compact, dry form. The remaining solids-free effluent goes to the lagoon.

Benefits of Step 1:

  • 5x more nutrients per tonne with less volume
  • Reduced phosphorus in the liquid stream
  • Less soil compaction and simpler spreading
  • Lower hauling and labor costs
  • Better barn air quality and nitrogen retention
  • Smaller carbon footprint with reduced GHGs
  • Preparedness for Step 2 upgrades

At the Digester:

  • 30% dry solids are delivered to the digester
  • Digestate is dewatered and solids returned to your farm
  • TDS and clean water are separated for reuse and dilution

Step 2: Create Recycled Drinking Water for the Barn

If water costs rise or restrictions tighten, Step 2 helps you eliminate lagoon dependence by recycling clean water and capturing valuable nutrients.

Step 2 Highlights:

  • Capture Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) and Ammonia in liquid form
  • Generate low-hardness recycled water for barn use
  • Improve nutrient placement and reduce overloads
  • Increase your available licensed water volume
  • Cleaner barn air and reduced struvite buildup

The ATD Advantage

  • Custom-designed solutions for every farm
  • Integrated with existing equipment and water sources (rain, drainage
    ditches)
  • Professional training for staff on new technologies
  • Small footprint and scalable design
  • Ongoing support from our trusted team
  • The complete system can be moved to a new location
  • Removes the risks, odors and gases associated with lagoon management

For Hub Digester Operators

ATD’s system is also optimized for hub-style digestion networks:

  • Receive semi-dried solids (min. 30% dry matter)
  • Prepare feedstock using clean water from digestate recycling
  • Dewater digestate and capture concentrated nutrients
  • Return disinfected solids and concentrates to farms
  • Reduce transport costs and increase overall system efficiency
